Shirley May Shams, died Friday, November 15, 2019, in the care of Brooklyn Claire Bridge in La Crosse.
He was born March 31, 1934, in La Crosse, to Laura and Lucille (Oldenburg) Nnuto and the eldest of five children. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1952. Shirley marries her high school sweetheart William G. With Shems on April 24, 1954, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in La Crosse, and his devoted wife for 63 years, until her death on March 24. , 2018
Shirley had never sat long since she was busy with six children and helping her husband Bill with farm books and a good ear while he cared for his many businesses.
Shirley is survived by her six children and sixteen grandchildren, Steve Shems (Christina) and their family, Jac Jacob (Christine), Stephanie Astor (Stephanie), Benjamin, Kevin (Alexandra) and Bridget; Jacques Shems and his daughter Morgan; Sherry Weebben (Tim) and their family: Melissa Allen (Wall), Aaron (and I) and Michelle; Bill Shams (Courtney Cameron) and his children Ryan (Robin), Kelly Pfennig (Cody) and Erin; Lori King (wealthy) and her children Shelby Stumlin (ob Jacob) and Christopher Marx, and step-grandchildren, Kerry Rane and Allie Weiley (step); and Larry Shams (ann Annette) and their children, Alison and Gabriel. Shirley has also been blessed with 14 great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law, Horn Lake Joan Jew Jew of Mississippi, La Verne Telen of Minnesota, Meriana, Idaho and Diane Boland (Glen) Merdian, Idaho, and Yugen Niedon (Ward); sisters Paul Shams (y udy) and Richard Arnson, both of La Crosse; and many cousins ​​and nephews.
Shirley's parents were preceded in death. husband, Bill; beloved grandson, Sammy Sheams; brothers: Jerry Erie Jewett, Al Thelen, Gerald Schams, Donald Schams, Bernie Bahr, Max Longmire and Vincent Schams; and sisters Louise Shams, Louise Bahr, Ann Aronson, Janet Longir, Lois Shams and Carol Shams.
At 4 pm there will be a Mass of Christian Burial. Monday, November 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Ridge. MS. Robert Hunt and St. Bijou K. Kuzuki will be in office. The funeral will take place at the church cemetery later. Family and friends can call from 2 p.m. until the time of Mass in the Church on Monday.
