NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) – ASCAP Foundation, which is recording artist and activist Natalie Merchant, will be recognized with the ASCAP Foundation Champion Award. Founder, composer, conductor, artistic director and founder of the New York Youth Choir Francisco Nezi will be presented with the ASCAP Foundation Life in Music Award.

In the Life Music Award, the ASCAP Foundation presents the ASCAP Writer for their achievements as a composer, songwriter, performer, instrumentalist or vocalist in any genre. Previous winners include Johnny Cash and Cun Carter Cash, jazz composer and orchestra actress Maria Schneider, renowned choir composer Morten Lauridsen, composer, instrumentalist and composer Essie.

The awards will be presented at the ASCAP Foundation Awards on Wednesday, December 11, in New York. The evening will also feature talented performances in various musical genres.
