Singer, songwriter and guitarist Tab Benoit is set to perform on January 8 at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, which includes a remarkable 30+ year career on the ground of stupid and soulful Delta swamp blues fans as well as five Blues Music Awards, including a BB King singer of the year competition and a contribution to the Louisiana Hall of Fame.

He recorded and / or performed with Junior Wells, George Porter Jr., Dr. John, Willie Nelson, Big Head Monk Boudreaux, Billy Joe Shaver, Maria Muldaur, James Cotton, Cyril Neville, Kenny Aronoff, Allen Toussaint, Kim Wilson with Jimmy Thackery. To name a few people are Charlie Musleweight, Kenny Neal, Chris Leighton, Ivan Neville, Jim Immy Hall, Jim My Lauderdale, Anders Osborn and Alvin Youngblood Hart. Tab's accomplishments as a musician coincide only with his commitment to the environmental health of his native Louisiana.

Benoit is the founder and driving force behind The Voice of Wet Waters, an organization that works to preserve the coastal waters of his home state. In 2010, he received the Governor's Award for Conservation of the Year from the Louisiana Wildlife Federation.
